PInk Princess - Philodendron I

The Philodendron erubescens, or Pink Princess, is a spectacular variegated philodendron.  Apart from the splendid pink and dark green leaves, the plant is identified by large waxy leaves. These leaves can grow up to 9” long and 5” wide. The pinkness on the leaves is due to a lack of chlorophyll—the chemical that makes plants’ leaves green. However, some greenness on the leaves is also necessary so that the plants can photosynthesize.
