Kantha quilts are entirely hand-sewn. Traditionally, Indian women would use the scrap fabric from recycled saris and kurtas that have run their course and stitch the fabric together to make a blanket or quilt. These blankets were often given as baby blankets or wedding presents. Each piece of material incorporated into these blankets would hold the memories from the life lived in it— creating a family heirloom. Modern Kantha blankets don't always hold the same significance but are still wonderfully unique pieces of artistry. No two blankets are the same— a truly one-of-a-kind design element to your home. Due to the fully handmade nature of this product, we can not guarantee that each piece will exactly match the pictures shown, but will be very close.
